SO about 3:30 this morning our little dog Izzy starts barking. We fuss at her, tell her to hush - there's nothing to bark at there's nothing out there go back to sleep blah blah blah. We thought she was picking up barking from our other dogs - Izzy doesn't bark. She kept getting up to bark for the next half hour.
At about 4:00 am I hear the distinct sound of and see the lights of a tow truck. Then the police. Then more police. And they're in front of our house.
With Izzy barking behind me I go to the side bedroom and peep out the blinds to see..... a 1970's model trans-am deposited neatly on its side into the (large) drainage ditch running the length of our yard (and on the left side of the road). Fits like a card into an envelope.
The driver managed to deposit the car there immediately after turning onto our road. You can see the tire marks from one tire that made contact with the side of the ditch where he apparently tried to drive out (??? while the car was laying completely on its side ???)
Either took a lot of talent to put it there, or a lot of Jack Daniels. Took an hour for the wrecker to get it out.
